John Burke

John Burke joined Weiss Research as a writer and analyst in June 2003, bringing extensive writing and editing experience to the position. As an accomplished investment analyst, he is responsible for conducting financial research and in-depth analysis on domestic and foreign equities with a focus on defense stocks. Mr. Burke also tracks current geopolitical conflicts and is a regular contributor to Money and Markets.
Before joining the company, Mr. Burke was an assistant editor at personal finance website Bankrate.com, where he was responsible for writing a weekly business feature, editing the company’s personal finance stories, and maintaining website content. Earlier in his career, Mr. Burke was a journalist, reporting and editing a weekly newspaper in Miami, Florida, and later, covering general assignment and business beats for a daily paper on Florida’s Treasure Coast.
Mr. Burke, a former U.S. Marine intelligence specialist, has appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and has been quoted for his defense-industry insights in Barron’s, Investment News, The Dallas Morning News and Smart Money.
Mr. Burke graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine.
