Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund

Money and Markets | Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 7:30 am

We’re the executives of Weiss Capital Securities, Inc., a separate affiliate of the Weiss Group. And we’re writing to you today because of our heightened concern for capital conservation in today’s unstable environment.

When we look for what we consider the best haven for our clients’ cash needs, our top choice is the Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund — not only because it’s managed by our investment advisory affiliate, Weiss Capital Management — but also because of the many advantages it offers:

Advantage #1. The Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund invests exclusively in short-term U.S. Treasuries or equivalent, the world’s highest quality and most liquid securities. It prohibits investments in bank CDs, commercial paper and even government agency securities — let alone the mortgage-backed and sub-prime paper, and collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) that have been the source of so much concern.

Advantage #2. The Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund makes it as easy as possible for you to have immediate access to your money. You can call for a redemption or take advantage of the Fund’s truly free feature of check-writing.

Advantage #3. The Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund invests your money immediately, and it remains invested until the day your check or out-going wire clears. That way your money is always earning interest. And if you pay your bills with the Fund’s free checking privilege, your money will continue earning interest until your payees cash your checks and until those checks arrive for payment at the Fund’s custodian.

Advantage #4. The Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund earns dividends that are exempt from state and local income taxes in most states. That can give you an after-tax yield benefit that other money funds invested in CDs or commercial paper, which are not exempt, do not give you.

Advantage #5. The FDIC does not insure money market funds. However, the payment of principal and interest on the Treasury securities owned by the Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund is unconditionally guaranteed by the U.S. government. And that backing is not limited just to $100,000 like bank deposits. Whether you invest a thousand dollars or a million dollars, the same U.S. government backing applies to all Treasury securities.

Our view: The turmoil in the housing and mortgage sectors is far from over, raising serious questions about the future health of some of the nation’s largest financial institutions. So if you are looking for a safe haven for your cash, we believe the Weiss Treasury Only Money Market Fund is your best solution.

We feel it’s ideal — both for your personal money and your business checking.

Best wishes,

Dan Ascani, Executive Vice President
